“My name is Julio. I am a pastor in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and I was the first student from my church to go to MEDA.”
Men like Julio (pictured above) come to TMAI because they love God’s word, and when they return to their churches, they often see the Lord use His word in remarkable ways. For Julio, it has been a unique blessing to see God use him not only to pastor his church, but also to raise up several other pastors from his church as well (2 Tim 2:2). Julio shares more of his story below:
I know that God is going to use these men for His kingdom and for the proclamation of His word
“After graduating, I became the pastor of my church in 2016 and I started preaching expository sermons through books of the Bible.
Over time, I think that the Lord used that exposure to the word and that example of teaching to plant a desire in several other men from my church to study and get trained to become expository preachers, pastors, and church planters.
From 2018 to 2021, three more men from our church started studying at MEDA and have since graduated. Even now, another five men from our church are also at MEDA.
I praise the Lord for that. I know that God is going to use these men for His kingdom and for the proclamation of His word. Lord willing, many others will follow!”
As this story illustrates, your prayers and financial support to train men like Julio can bear extensive fruit in the life of a local church. Today, many of the students and graduates from Julio’s congregation serve as pastors and church planters among the Spanish-speaking world, and several others are assisting in ministry while they aspire to that work.
