“Today, we have only two churches in our region,” said one pastor from a restricted-access country. “We are living very far away and do not have any opportunity to learn and grow.”
But thanks to an indigenous TMAI student, one of our schools expanded its preaching program into his country, and the pastor above is now being trained to preach expository sermons.
“I praise God for the Expository Preaching program started in my country,” the pastor continued. “In the beginning, I felt like it would be impossible for me to do that because I was living very far away and had many other challenges to come and join. But I praise God for the encouragement of that [TMAI] student and the provision of TMAI to do this program.”
“I couldn’t even imagine how great this program was until I personally experienced it. This expository study has changed my perspective and thinking. Before experiencing this training, I was totally unaware and preaching in ignorance. But this program is helping me to understand biblical preaching well-rooted in text and its context.
Thanks for your love, training, and encouraging support in this area.
God bless TMAI’s work in Asia.”
Developing New Training Frontiers in the 10/40 Window
Even though the apostles first spread the gospel from inside the 10/40 Window, this greater region currently contains some of the least-evangelized countries in the world. In many cases, persecution can leave believers isolated, and foreign workers face several hurdles in reaching them. It is critical to train the indigenous church leaders to be the ones to expand gospel ministry across this part of the world. However, as God has sovereignly set the boundaries of every man (Acts 17:26), He has graciously given indigenous believers in these regions the ability to get through doors that most foreigners (especially Westerners) cannot. For this reason, it is critical to train the indigenous church leaders to be the ones to expand gospel ministry across this part of the world.
TMAI currently operates schools in various countries throughout the 10/40 Window, and the influence of these training centers extends well beyond their physical location. Not only can students from across the 10/40 Window join our programs, but once trained, they can also go back out to spread the gospel among their native people and throughout neighboring countries, where Christ is rarely known.
How to Support Indigenous Pastors
