Prayer Update—May 17, 2016

“Be patient, therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord.
Behold, the farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil,
being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains.
You too be patient, strengthen your hearts,
for the coming of the Lord is at hand.”
James 5:7, 8

Dear Prayer Team,

Pray for WGBI (Russian language/multi-country) as they seek to launch a new radio endeavor. They are editing/producing thirty-minute sermons for broadcast three times a week on local stations in Vancouver/Seattle, WA, Portland, OR and Sacramento, CA, beginning in June 2016. In addition, by summer’s end, they desire to have concrete plans in place for developing similar outreach by radio in Ukraine and Russia. Pray for spiritual and technical guidance for those developing these programs for radio. Pray also for their May 11-20 course on Shepherdology in Ukraine, and their family conference and counseling course in Israel in early June.

Pray for the EBTC (Germany/Switzerland) pastor’s conference in Wittenberg May 19 – 21 on the topic of “The Power of the Gospel.” Pray also for the preparations for graduation and anniversary celebrations coming up for all three EBTC sites next month. Praise the Lord for their new building, and for 15 years of His faithfulness toward the EBTC!

Other May/early June conferences coming up include: PTS (India) Alumni Reunion May 11-13; Impact Bible Conference on how to proclaim the gospel to a secular culture sponsored by TSBC (New Zealand) June 3 – 6; and “The Christian and Discernment,” sponsored by CBI (Czech Republic) June 9 – 12.

Pray for the team at CAPA (Malawi) as they go through the transition of one family leaving and three families being added. While they are rejoicing that twenty-eight men from the one year program for preaching and pastoral ministry recently graduated, they are also facing a setback in their accreditation process as the initial application was denied. Pray for much wisdom and favor with the officials as they appeal this decision.

Pray for the leadership of SETS (Europe) as one family is transitioning back to the U.S. Pray for strength for the teaching faculty and the national administrator as they adjust to the change. Pray also for the students’ growth in godliness and pastoral ministry.

The month of May is busy for the faculty of Berea (Spain). They have just completed a seminary faculty retreat, have the next seminary class May 13 – 15, and will be teaching at a conference in Murcia May 19 – 22. Lord-willing, this will be the site of a new extension beginning in September. Pray that this conference will benefit the attendees and whet their appetites for in-depth, expository preaching.

Thank you for praying with us!
