Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned.

God created man to be procreative, and as we give birth to offspring we pass to them and to their children our natures. These inherent natures, because of the first disobedience of Adam, are depraved and sinful. When Adam sinned, the whole human race sinned and his fallenness was passed on to all his descendants. Stop and pray that from all nations, those in Adam, can be saved in Christ. It is present from the moment we are conceived, and apart from Christ, we cannot know God because we are dead in our wretched state as sinners. This concept makes sense to Malawians because our traditional worldview correlates with the idea that when one person angers “God” (not Yahweh), the entire village will suffer the consequences. Adam represents mankind in as far as sin is concerned, and because of this connection to Adam, all have sinned. Imagine what it would be like if every nation was required to obtain a savior of its own—no country would have been able to find one. But through Christ, God’s salvation plan was made complete. He deserves all glory, honor, and praise for providing a Savior who gives eternal life to people who are dead in their sins, people from all tribes and nations of the world. This is why we need to spread the gospel and make disciples of all nations. No culture, no tribe, nor group of people can claim to be free from sin, because we are all descendants of Adam. Every tribe and every nation has to hear the good news of salvation given by the Father. Stop and pray that from all nations, those in Adam, can be saved in Christ.
