The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
— PSALM 19:1 —

The universe is filled with wonder. We are awestruck by the ocean’s magnitude, fascinated by ingenuity, and allured by the intoxicating aroma of fresh-roasted coffee. The fantastic world we inhabit boasts unfathomable systems of subterranean caves, impenetrable forests teeming with organisms, and massive ranges of mountain peaks upon which no foot has ever stood. Indeed, from the smallest mite of dust to the grandest and most luminous supernova, every ounce of the universe cries out in unanimous attestation of divine authorship. While the sun-illuminated horizons alone are sufficient to rouse admiration, the entirety of space and sky above stretches into a limitless boundary we will never be able to fathom. The universe, of course, is not just a cosmic playground in which we delight, nor is it merely the picturesque setting of our lives. For all its wonder, we must not forget the origin of its design. It is, above all else, a marvelous message with an unmistakable meaning. Indeed, from the smallest mite of dust to the grandest and most luminous supernova, every ounce of the universe cries out in unanimous attestation of divine authorship. Take time to delight in the matchless God who created the heavens and the earth. Number the stars, if you can, and consider the immeasurable power and wisdom required to stretch them out across the infinite galaxies. Consider your smallness, frailty, and insufficiency in comparison to His great might. Cast your cares upon His shoulders, lean upon His strength, and worship at His feet. And no matter how many times you are told that the universe is unplanned, random, and purposeless, just look out the window and see once again that the handiwork of God is as clear as, well, the day.
