Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

Living in Honduras, I’ve realized that we’re lacking something, and I wish it could be better. Though we are a country with many natural resources, we have a glaring deficiency. We lack actual addresses in most if not all our cities; there are no street names or mailboxes! When pressed to give exact directions, we can’t, because the houses are not numbered and the streets are frequently unnamed. There’s only one way to have a relationship with the Father, and it’s through Christ Jesus. Instead, we are forced to use vague descriptions from known landmarks, like the grocery store or a gas station, as general points of reference in order to specify the location. On a spiritual level, the same phenomenon occurs when we try to give an exact response to the following question: “How can man be right with God?” Due to a lack of serious and adequate training, even our churches produce various answers with vague spiritual generalities, which cause much confusion. But Christ has said that He is the only way to the Father. The only right approach to God is through Him; the only saving path is that which follows Christ through His life, death, and resurrection. The directions are very clear. There are not multiple ways or vague guidelines. There’s only one way to have a relationship with the Father, and it’s through Christ Jesus. In John 14, Jesus was encouraging His disciples not to let their hearts be troubled by worry and uncertainty. If they would follow Him, they would never be lost. Make sure that you are on the right path and that you proclaim it with clarity, for Christ is not merely one reference point among many—He is the only way!
