…with a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth.

No matter how bad it is today, let’s look forward to the day when God unites all things in Christ. As Paul reminds us in this verse, at the right time, the “fullness of the times,” God will repair all that has been broken. We know from Scripture that all things were once united together in one perfect order. But in the fullness of time, at a time and hour appointed by God, He will unite all things in Christ. Everything was beautiful to behold; it was very good (Gen. 1:31). But then sin came and broke the unity. Now there is disunity and conflict in the spiritual realms and on earth. We even see disagreements and factions in the church, the body of Christ. And our own hearts are often divided. But in the fullness of time, at a time and hour appointed by God, He will unite all things in Christ. There are things in heaven and things on earth that God will unite. Believers, angelic hosts, and all creation will join in praising God and Christ as He reigns. Although we do not know exactly when this day will come, we know that the one who promised is faithful and will fulfill His Word. As we live in the Lord, no matter how tough and painful life in this world may be, let us not falter but continue in our faithful walk in Him. Brothers and sisters, let’s look forward to that day.
