Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable.
— Isaiah 40:28 —

God often brings good news amid hard circumstances. The Jewish people were about to be captured by the Babylonians and taken into captivity for seventy years because they violated God’s law and broke His covenant. Amidst the bad news and hard circumstances, God spoke good news to encourage them because He already had a plan to return His people from captivity. Most Jews forgot their God. If He [God] is indeed your Savior, trust Him afresh today, for He will never forsake His people or let them down. They lost their hope and did not trust in the Lord. Unfortunately, they were trusting in the false gods around them as if they were equal with the Lord. However, God would rescue them for His own purposes, even though they did not deserve it. And in view of their promised return, they were not to be despairing because God is merciful. He is faithful to His covenant promises that He established with Israel. He will keep His word. So what must the people of Israel do? They must remember their God—that He is powerful. He is not like the false gods who are impotent and are unable to help in any way. This God is never tired nor grows weary like a man. They must remember that their God is faithful—He is mighty in power and has promised to rescue His people from their captivity. He is the Everlasting God, the One who has always existed, the great and almighty Creator of all things. Nothing is impossible for Him; no problem is too great! That is the God we serve. If He is indeed your Savior, trust Him afresh today, for He will never forsake His people or let them down.
