Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.
— PSALM 96:3 —

Psalm 96 is a call to praise Yahweh as Savior and Creator. Verse 3 is part of the community’s response to God for giving His people salvation and for the creation. Before I was saved, I thought I could earn my way into becoming a child of God by pleasing Him as I engaged in various church activities and events. Blind and lost, I was still actively involved in the church. Oblivious to the truth of God as revealed through His word, I only thanked Him (for anything) when I acquired material possessions. Because I know who I am as a child of God, I am motivated to go out and share this good news. I never thought to express gratitude to Him for the fact that He is the One who created the universe and that He reached out to me through His Son, Jesus Christ. All that changed when He made me alive in Christ Jesus. Because I know who I am as a child of God, I am motivated to go out and share this good news. The gospel that changed (and is still transforming) my life prompts me to declare our God and King’s glory. This is my response to what God did by granting even someone like me the gift of salvation. Declaring His glory should be the reaction of every recipient of His grace. Every church, ministry, and Christian must declare God’s glory as souls are saved and as they are nourished through the preaching and teaching of the Bible. Our goal in all we do must be to declare God’s glory and His marvelous deeds to all the world’s peoples. Stop now, and thank God for His salvation and praise Him for His glory.
