And do not take the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, for I wait for Your ordinances.
– Psalm 119:43 –

We are living in an ever-changing world where biblical truths are distorted rapidly. Even Christians are sometimes tempted to waver in taking a stand for true values and principles instructed in the Bible. How especially challenging for servants of God to proclaim God’s truth from the pulpit without fearing any backlash from the congregation! The longest Psalm in the Bible, Psalm 119, unashamedly declares the excellencies of the word of God. Do you proclaim God’s truth fearlessly, knowing that His truth will ultimately triumph? The text under consideration carries the earnest request from the psalmist for boldness to proclaim the word of God to the people around him. The psalmist, without being intimidated by reproaches (Psa. 119:42), pleads that he would never lack God’s word to respond. He is not looking to his self-generated ideas, but only to the true word of God. The psalmist rests on the hope that God’s truth will finally triumph. I was reading about the challenge faced by a minister, who was proclaiming that Christian women ought to be family-oriented when most of the women in his congregation were focused on building careers. Some were offended, but God’s word prevailed, convicting many women to reconsider their priorities. Many left their jobs to serve their family first. Do you proclaim God’s truth fearlessly, knowing that His truth will ultimately triumph? You can ask for wisdom from above so that you may have a ready defense from Scripture. Proclaim the truth!
