The Mission

Theological Biblical Academy (TBA) exists to equip church leaders and church planters in the nations of the former Republic of Yugoslavia. TBA’s goal is to produce graduates who have a profound spiritual maturity, an irreproachable character, a deep understanding of the Scriptures, a thorough knowledge of theology and church history, a proven ability to evangelize the lost and tested skills for pastoral ministry including expository preaching, counseling, and leadership in the local church. Students can study for one to five years depending on their abilities, calling, and goals.

Impact

TBA has graduates and faculty members serving in churches and planting new churches in Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, and Bosnia. TBA also holds seminars for local churches to help equip their members and future leaders for the work of the ministry. TBA is involved in translating and publishing Christian literature to provide needed Christian material for believers in this part of the world who do not have many resources. Over the years TBA has produced over twenty books including titles by John MacArthur, Steve Lawson, and Paul Washer.

History

The ministry of TBA began back in 1981 under the name of the Evangelical Bible Institute in Vienna, Austria which served the churches in Southeastern Europe by providing training for church leaders and members who could not get training in their own communist countries. After the fall of communism, TBA moved its ministry of training pastors and church planters to the town of Krapina, Croatia and began holding full-time classes in 2000. It is graciously hosted by Emanuel Baptist Church pastored by its first graduate, Miško Horvatek (TMS, 1991).

I wanted a deeper knowledge of God to be more faithful in my witness. One day I saw a brochure of Theological Biblical Academy (TBA), I read it and said to myself, "that’s it!" I’ve been yearning to be equipped as an effective minister of God’s Word, and this school exists for just that reason.
