Croatia: The Training of Nationals Produces Fruit

Ten years ago, Todd Dick and his family moved to a region of Croatia where he began serving as pastor to a small church of about 40 people. His goal at the time was strengthen the church and then pass the reigns on to a national pastor.

In pursuit of that goal, Todd has also served as a professor at the Theological Biblical Academy (TBA) in Krapina. The mission of that training center, like all TMAI training centers, is to train men to lead the church.

Croatia Dolac Market 300Last month, in an encouraging ministry update, Todd announced that God has given fruit to his ministry and has raised up a national pastor – Vlado Hoblaj – who has taken over as pastor of the church.

This is the ministry of TMAI in action.

Todd’s ministry is far from complete, though. In fact, you could say it is in many ways just beginning. With the first leg of his mission accomplished, he is already pouring his time and energy into the men he has taught and seen graduate from TBA. Assured that the church he pastored is in good hands, Todd is filling his schedule with trips and meetings with former students who are looking to plant churches in Croatia.

At the same time, he will continue to teach at TBA. It is the foundation of everything he is pursuing in Croatia. Through the training and mentoring done there by him and the rest of the TBA faculty, Croatian nationals are being prepared to stand in pulpits and lead God’s people.

It is already happening.
