Bringing biblical counseling to the people of Albania.

The Lord continues to bless the ministry of the TMAI school in Albania. In the past year specifically, the school has seen tremendous growth in the area of biblical counseling.

Last June and September, the school offered biblical counseling classes. Also, working with local churches, it offered seminars on biblical parenting in both January and April. It is becoming more evident to Albanian Christians that this type of practical and biblical training is greatly needed.

As a result of the increasing interest in biblical counseling, leadership at the school is working together with another NANC (National Association of Nouthetic Counseling) certified worker and some like-minded churches to offer a conference on biblical counseling this fall. Two NANC fellows, Brad Brandt and Tim Pasma, will be speaking and conducting some very practical training.

The leaders at the school ask for your prayers as they continue to train the next generation of Albanian biblical counselors, giving people hope that the sufficient Word of God, by the power of the Holy Spirit, is truly able to bring lasting change and hope.

In May, the school, along with a partnering church, hosted its 10th annual Shepherds’ Conference which drew pastors and church leaders from all across Albania and Kosovo. One highlight was a guest speaker who taught on “Albanian Evangelicals: Then, Now, and What Could Be: Lessons from Albanian History for the Church.”

As Albania has recently celebrated its 100th anniversary of independence, this was a fitting year to pause and examine what the Lord has done throughout the history of Albania. There are many valuable lessons to be learned when history, religion and culture are viewed through the lens of Scripture. Our hope is that the evangelical church in Albania and Kosovo might benefit from these valuable lessons so that she will continue to grow for the sake of the gospel and the glory of God. ◄
