Mexico: God Provides Pastor with Basic Library

Update from Jim Dowdy
Word of Grace Seminary, Mexico
June 24, 2013

Ernesto Leal enrolled in Jim’s class at the Word of Grace Seminary several years ago. Although he was very quiet in class Jim soon discovered he was a very gifted teacher. However, due to some fairly serious health problems he was unable to continue his studies. In spite of this, the Lord opened the door for him to be the pastor-teacher of the Alfa and Omega Christian Church in Tlauhuapan, about one hour east of Mexico City.

Due to both his and the church’s humble economic circumstances, Ernesto had been unable to purchase even the most basic theological library. Recently, through the generous donation of God’s saints we were able to purchase and deliver a basic theological library to Ernesto. This picture does not capture the joy Ernesto felt upon receiving these books. His wife said he was like a little boy in a candy store!

God has provided for Ernesto to return to Seminary this August. He will once again be in Jim’s Pastoral Ministry class.

Please pray with us:

  • July 1-5, Jim, along with another Seminary professor, Rogelio Espinosa, travels to Tijuana, Mexico just across the border from San Diego, CA. NorthCreek Church in Walnut Creek, CA has requested help from the Mexico City Seminary with an ongoing hispanic ministry that they have had in Tijuana. We will be collaborating with them by conducting training programs for both pastors and families. Pray for God’s strength and blessing.
  • July 15-20, the Word of Grace Biblical Seminary will be celebrating its 15th anniversary! Dr. Evis Carballosa (Spain) and Pastor Henry Tolopilo (California) will be here during the week for a conference for Seminary grads and upper classmen. On Saturday, July 20, the Seminary will host its annual graduation service.

Thank you for your partnership with us!
