Italy: Impacting Milan and Verona

The Italian Theological Academy (ITA) may be located on the island of Sicily, but the extent of its ministry is reaching churches as far north as Milan and Verona.

Recently, ITA director Johnny Gravino traveled to northern Italy to teach a seminar on expository preaching. The response was overwhelming, particularly in Verona.

“It was incredible,” Gravino wrote in a report about the two-evening event in Verona. “About 50 people, mostly leaders from five surrounding churches, showed up both nights. At the end, with great enthusiasm, several approached me wanting more. Hence, I am now in discussions to set up several training weekends up there.”

The goal of ITA has always been to strengthen churches in Italy by training church leaders to teach the Word of God verse by verse. By forming relationships with churches in places such as Verona and Milan, ITA is making that possible. They are bringing the training that’s available in Sicily directly into churches where men can begin learning how to exposit the Bible.

That will lead to genuine and lasting impact. It is an answer to prayer.
