Missions Mobilization Memo – May 2013

For many decades, believers in the USSR were denied the opportunity to receive formal Bible education. IBS was founded shortly after God brought the Iron Curtain crashing down, and is the oldest TMAI member school. The mission of IBS is to fill the vital need for biblically-trained pastors and church workers in the former Soviet Union. IRPIN

On May 23–24 it will be our privilege to host a Bible conference with Dr. Alex Montoya. Dr. Montoya is Associate Professor of Pastoral Ministry at The Master’s Seminary. Besides teaching for over 20 years at TMS, Dr. Montoya has served as a senior pastor for over 40 years and has planted many daughter churches. Dr. Montoya will be speaking on the following topics:

  • “Run to Obtain the Prize” from 1 Cor. 9:24–27
  • “Priorities in Ministry” from Phil. 2:14–18
  • “Purity in Ministry” from 2 Tim. 2:1–10
  • “Perseverance in Ministry” from Heb. 12:1–3
  • “Faithfulness in Ministry” from 2 Tim. 4:1–8

We are also excited about the opportunity for our Th.M students to travel to Berlin for two advanced courses by renowned apologist James White. One course will equip students to witness to Muslims and the other to answer attacks on the historicity and inerrancy of Scripture by liberals and secular humanists.

This month’s TMAI matching grant challenge will be devoted to providing needed scholarships for Ukrainian pastors, students, and alumni who would benefit greatly from these rare opportunities, but cannot afford the costs. Up to $5,000 given this month towards the needs of IBS will be matched by a generous donor.
