Malawi – CAPA Update

Update from Brian*
October 15, 2014

CAPA Logo (Color - 600)For years now, we have been hoping to see a new training program begin here in Malawi specifically for pastors. Our desire was to be able to provide tools and training for current pastors, with a focus on expository preaching at a cost that would not prohibit them from attending. Last year, Jim and his family joined our team here in Malawi to help launch CAPA. In August of this year we welcomed our first incoming class of about 40 pastors.

Jim and I have been teaching courses on sermon preparation and we have had guest lecturers teach modular classes. In August, Pastor Steve Williams from Grace Community Church of Seal Beach taught a course in biblical interpretation. In September, Pastor Paul Hamline from The Bible Church of Little Rock visited us to teach biblical counseling. The students seem to really appreciate the “pastors training pastors” approach at CAPA. Please pray for us as we continue to help train these pastors and host visiting lecturers.

Thank you for your partnership with us.
