Spain: Grammar & Preaching

Update from Gus Pidal

Berea Bible Institute
We continue to meet with the future leaders from our church and a nearby church to study the Word. In the month of October, we started a class that we are calling “Introduction to Expository Preaching.” The class delves into the art of expository preaching with theory, but there are also preaching labs; the men are preaching and being graded based on how they have applied what they are learning in the classroom. By God’s grace, we have heard some amazing messages, and continue to look forward to what the Lord will do in these men.

Last week, Professor Adrian Donato, Dean of The Cornerstone Seminary in Vallejo, CA, taught an intensive, week-long class on Diagramming and Sentence Structure using the biblical text. Although the class was quite difficult, our students had a great time learning advanced grammar and syntax.

Berea Sur (Berea’s Extension in Southern Spain)
Professor Adrian Donato, David Robles and Gus went to Andalucia for another installment of Berea Sur. They did another intensive class on Diagramming and Sentence Structure and though it was a lot of new information for the men, it was a blessing to see them grasping these concepts! They will be going back to the South of Spain in January, February and in May, to continue our preaching and Spanish exegesis classes with the men who are now beginning their second year of training with us. Please be praying for this area of Spain and these men who are elders and leaders of churches down there.
