Philippines: The Expositor’s Academy Update June 2013

Update from Sean Ransom
The Expositor’s Academy, the Philippines
June 12, 2013

Thank you for praying for The Expositor’s Academy and our ministry in the Philippines. In February, I went to the U.S. for the Shepherds’ Conference at Grace Community Church and the annual TMAI symposium. This year was an extra joy because I was able to bring Pastor Erwin Quimboy who is on staff with me at The Expositor’s Academy.

We were able to participate in a missions conference hosted by Calvary Bible Church in Burbank, California. During my short trip to California I had the privilege of preaching at Cornerstone Church in Riverside, The Master’s College in Santa Clarita, and at East West Church in Reseda. I was also able to squeeze in a quick trip to visit the Church at South Mountain in Arizona.

After returning to regular ministry in Manila, I am settled back into my routine. The class I am teaching at the Church of the Triumphant Christ in Cainta is on track to graduate this December and plans are in the works to start another first-year class soon.

The church plant that we are part of in the city of Paranaque is getting really exciting. The three men that I am working with, Pastors E.J. Delmundo, George Ngan and Doc. Rico are all like-minded men, with a love for God’s Word and God’s people. We are building the church ministry around expository preaching, and have been preaching through the gospel of Matthew for the last two years. Because we are committed to biblical eldership and ministries, we hold a special time of training for our ministry leaders twice a month. We started with training in biblical counseling and we are now teaching them the principles for interpreting the Bible as we take them through an exposition of 1 Timothy. We also have plans to begin an internship program to further develop some of our men for service within our church and other ministries in the Philippines.

Lastly, help is on the way. The Greene’s are praying to be here to join our team by September. The Dexter’s are hoping to arrive by the end of the year and the Lucianos hope to be here in early 2014. Your continued prayers and support are greatly appreciated as we watch the Lord doing great things in and through us for His glory.
