Prayer Update – June 10, 2014

“In Thee, O Lord, I have taken refuge; Let me never be ashamed.
In Thy righteousness deliver me, and rescue me; Incline Thine ear to me, and save me.
Be Thou to me a rock of habitation, to which I may continually come;
Thou hast given commandment to save me, for Thou art my rock and my fortress.”
Psalm 71:1-3

Dear Praying Partners,

Please be praying for SCBT (Russia) as the last remaining missionary family is being forced to leave the country. There are many ministry details that need to be discussed with the national leadership as the missionaries pack and prepare to leave in several days. Thankfully the semester was finished and graduation and the accompanying preachers’ conference took place unhindered. For the first time, all three programs finished together with a total of 105 students graduating.

Pray for the ongoing ministry of WGBI (Russian language/multi-country) as they teach seminars and produce online resources for Russian-speaking church leaders.

In May, SETS (Albania) completed their ninth academic year. Thank the Lord for the nearly 100 students who have been impacted by the teaching and training offered there. Please pray that God would bring at least four to six new students to SETS for the new school year beginning in September. Thank Him for the three Kosovo church leaders who are pursuing enrollment in the Certificate Program which will occur on a weekly basis for 56 weeks over the next two years.

In September, MEDA (Honduras) will be adding a new professor, Robb Kensinger. Pray for the family’s move back to Honduras in early July and for the Theology 2, 3, and 4 curriculums that he is preparing to teach.

Pray for the new training center CAPA (Malawi) as they prepare for the start of their first academic year. Praise the Lord for the good facilities He’s provided for the training. Pray for common vision and unity among the professors and that God would bring to the school students who will be teachable and diligent.

Thank the Lord for the eager and joyfully receptive students He has brought to the two-week teaching sessions offered by GBS (Singapore). Currently there are 25 students in the Hermeneutics class, 18 in the Systematic Theology class and 36 in the Biblical Counseling class.

Trusting the Lord with you,
