Prayer Update – February 15, 2014

“For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses,
but one who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.
Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace,
that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need.”
Hebrews 4:15-16

Dear Prayer Team,

Pray for the TEA (Philippines) instructors as they seek to strengthen pastors and church leaders in areas hardest hit by the typhoons three months ago. Many have lost family members and members of their congregations as well as their church buildings and homes. For many, their shepherding and discipling ministries have also increased as people turn to the Lord and His church for help. Pray as strategic materials are distributed and taught to the leaders so they, in turn, may teach their people.

We thank God for His wonderful answer to the prayer request for resolution to the property tax issue facing TBA (Croatia). They paid the significant sum, but just recently (very unexpectedly), received a refund for the full amount! The recovery of these funds plus more that had been raised for renovations should now cover those costs plus costs for the necessary use permits. A second praise is that the first session of a once-a-month New Testament overview class taught in the church of a TBA graduate was very well received and attended… far above expectations. Pray that this model can be repeated in many other local churches.

A similar outreach hosted by two churches in northern Italy has encouraged the ITA (Italy) leadership to enter into discussions regarding future teaching/training sessions on a more regular basis. ITA has also begun offering their training from a local church base instead of the former, larger facility. This allows more flexibility, especially financially, so that the training can be taken to students in other locations. Pray that God would direct them to other pastors and churches who desire to partner in this way.

Thank the Lord for the outreach PTS (India) has in a neighboring country. Last month they, along with other visiting TMAI faculty, provided teaching for a conference which was attended by 235 church leaders. Pray for these leaders as they seek to be faithful to their calling in a very hard place, politically and spiritually.

The WGBS (Mexico) extension class in El Salvador graduated their first seven men in November 2013. Lord-willing, some of these men will become future professors as this program continues and begins a second cycle this year. Pray that God would bring about a future, permanent extension school in El Salvador.

Pray for the students at IDEX (U.S.-based Spanish language training) that as their commitment to the Word of God deepens, it would impact their ministry in their churches and result in greater maturity within their congregations.

Thank you for partnering with us in prayer!
