Prayer Update – April 24, 2013

“Blessed be the Lord, Because He has heard the voice of my supplication.
The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart exults, And with my song I shall thank Him.”
Psalm 28:6-7

Dear Prayer Team,

Pray for the students at TBA (Croatia) who will be graduating at the end of this academic year. This group includes the first two Serbians to graduate from TBA. One Slovenian graduated last September and this year’s freshman class includes the first Macedonian student. Thank the Lord for gradually increasing the radius from which students come to study at TBA and pray for their influence as they return to their hometowns and communities.

Thank the Lord for the 22 church leaders who attended the recent Preachers’ Academy hosted by PTS (India). Even though a few have previous seminary training, this exposure to the basics in expository preaching was eye-opening for them. Several attendees requested the instructors travel to their respective areas in order to train more pastors. Pray for the wisdom, resources and personnel to meet this great need as God sees fit.

Pray for Daisuke (HBI-Japan) as he is currently on another 4 week trip to Japan seeking to make contacts with like-minded churches and pastors desiring to partner in a training ministry for church leaders. He has teaching times scheduled as well, a 17-hour weekend class on hermeneutics in Kagoshima and a mini seminar in Sendai on the topics of the gospel and the sufficiency and authority of Scripture.

Please pray for the preparations for a conference hosted by IBS (Ukraine) May 23-24. Dr. Alex Montoya will be the speaker. Please also ask the Lord to bring in the extra finances needed to make up for the costly heating bill which IBS had to pay in February due to the extreme weather conditions.

The April/early May conferences are imminent: “Shepherding a Child’s Heart,” April 25-27, and “The Church of the Living God” pastor’s conference, May 2-4, sponsored by EBTC (Germany/Switzerland); “Preaching and Preachers,” April 30-May 3 in Rome, sponsored by ITA (Italy). Pray for unity and mutual encouragement, speakers’ travel and preparations, food/lodging logistics, as well as adequate funding to cover scholarships and gift books. These are important times for teaching, fellowship and acquainting church leaders with the training ministry opportunities offered by our TMAI schools.

Resting in the Lord with you!
