Prayer Update – June 16, 2015

“The Lord is righteous in all His ways,
And kind in all His deeds.
The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth.”
Psalm 145:17, 18

Dear Prayer Team,

EBTC (Germany/Switzerland) is thankful for a new faculty member, Nick Kalena, who will begin teaching Biblical Counseling in the fall. Pray for a smooth transition to this new responsibility.

Please pray for the upcoming Biblical Ethics conference being taught June 25 – 27 at MEDA (Honduras) by Dr. Michael Grisanti. The goals of MEDA/SEPE in sponsoring multiple conferences each year are to communicate truth, model expository preaching and acquaint church leaders with the opportunities for further training at the seminary. Pray that God would bless the conferences in these ways.

Pray for the students and staff at PTS (India) as they have just begun their new academic year. Pray also for expedited permits and approvals from the local government for the construction projects which have begun on the land for the seminary.

WGBI (Russian language/multi-country) is continuing to develop their online offerings. Pray for them as they determine future content for courses. They have been encouraged to learn that some students are, in turn, using these materials to teach on different levels in their local churches. Thank the Lord for the opportunity to touch lives by this means.

Our training center in East Asia is encouraged by the growth seen in their students’ abilities to understand, interpret and preach expositionally. Please pray for the teachers and the students in the various classes and locations.

Berea (Spain) held their first graduation of third year students at the end of May. Pray for these men as they apply what they have learned in their respective congregations. The conference on pastoral ministry was held June 5 – 7 with speakers David Robles, Henry Tolopilo and Luis Contreras. Pray that there will be an enduring impact from this special time of teaching in the lives of the attendees and those they influence.

Thank the Lord for the successful annual conference and preaching seminars with Steve Lawson with the theme of “Truth Prevails” that Czech Bible Institute just enjoyed. Also, in God’s providence, the proposal calling for cessation of partnership between the Baptist Union and Roman Catholic Church in Czech Republic (involving the church which hosts CBI and some of CBI’s teachers) did not come to a vote at the April meeting. Please continue to pray for this issue as it will be studied further and discussed at future meetings this fall and next spring.

Thank you for your prayer partnership with us!
