Prayer Update—February 26, 2016

“O Lord, the God of Israel, there is no God like Thee
in heaven above or on earth beneath,
who art keeping covenant and showing lovingkindness
to Thy servants who walk before Thee with all their heart.”
—I Kings 8:23

Dear Prayer Team,

Pray for the upcoming Pastoral Ministry and Expository Preaching modular course offered by IDEX (U.S.-based, Spanish language). Local and online students are invited to attend Shepherds’ Conference followed by an intensive week of ministry training. Many of these students are first-generation believers, serving in first-generation churches and they need encouragement and support from seasoned leaders. Pray that they will be strengthened by the instruction and fellowship offered at the conference and training course to follow.

MEDA (Honduras) has begun the new year by teaching a class on hermeneutics to their first year students. Pray for this new group of men that they would not just be informed intellectually, but that their hearts and lives would be conforming more and more in character and behavior to be like Christ in their sphere of influence.

Pray for the WGBS (Mexico) leadership as they seek to properly manage and coordinate professors and “Timothies”* to teach at their main campus in Mexico City and their nine extension locations in Mexico, Puerto Rico and El Salvador. At present, this represents 259 students that are being instructed.
*Timothy: a carefully selected graduate of the six year program to help teach

Pray for the professors at our East Asia training center as they seek to translate helpful, biblical parenting books to meet the demand for this kind of instruction from the congregations their students serve. Pray for the students, most of whom are bi-vocational, as they add a commitment to attend training one Saturday a month to their already demanding schedules.

Berea (Spain) has completed their first conference of 2016 on the topic of Christian marriage. There were about 100 adults in attendance. Pray that the Lord will help these families apply what they have learned and that they can be used in the lives around them. Berea also has received requests for extensions to be started in other parts of Spain and in North Africa. Pray for wisdom as the leadership considers how to respond to these requests.

WGBI (Russian language/multi-country) currently has 80 students in each class of their new, two-year, online course which launched in the fall of 2015. They are continuing to increase the number of courses and seminars available online by recording many of the events that take place at their own church. Pray for this outreach to impact many pastors and laymen. Pray also for the special conference for Russian-speaking pastors from all over the world which is sponsored annually by WGBI.

Thank you for your partnership with us!
