Prayer Update—February 20, 2017

“And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness;
for we do not know how to pray as we should,
but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;
and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is,
because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.”
Romans 8:26-27

Dear Prayer Team,

This week, Paul Washer has been speaking at conferences hosted by two of our training centers, CBI (Czech Republic) and TBA (Croatia). Ask the Lord to use the messages to encourage His workers, convict those who need to hear and understand the gospel, be models of precise exposition of Scripture, and influence some to consider further training.

CS (South Africa) is entering into their twenty-first year of ministry following the celebration of their first twenty years last fall. Around 90 graduates and many of their wives were able to participate in that celebration. In those twenty years, CS has produced around 170 graduates from South Africa, the U.S., Germany and at least eleven other African countries. Thank the Lord for this milestone and pray for the ongoing ministry of CS.

Pray for PTS (India) as they seek to respond to an opportunity presented to them by a group of pastors from a denominational group following their attendance at the Preachers’ Academy session in October and a four-day seminar event in one of their churches the end of January. They have asked PTS to create a special bi-vocational program for these men. Also, please continue to pray for the licensing and government agency approvals required for the continued development of the property for the permanent site of PTS.

WGBS (Mexico) has also been asked to begin yet another extension in the city of Tepic (eight hours west of Mexico City) for about twenty men who are pastors and leaders of local churches. Pray for wisdom in pursuing this opportunity as God provides. Meanwhile, a new group of 50 students are studying at the Guadalajara extension and twelve men have started their third year at the El Salvador extension. Pray for protection as the students and faculty travel to the sessions and pray for growth in conviction and skills for these pastors as they study and practice what they learn.

Faculty from SCBT (Russia) have also been traveling to other cities leading seminars on Biblical exposition, teaching courses and exploring plans for future and continued teaching in these locations which are hundreds of miles from Samara! Pray for wisdom and stamina to undertake these efforts. Thank the Lord for the 100 current students and graduates who were able to attend the Old Testament lecture series in mid-January taught by Dr. Keith Essex on the exposition of the book of Nehemiah.

Adding up the students in all six programs offered by IBS (Ukraine), there are around 400 students being trained either full or part-time. Pray for God’s strength for the faculty as they shepherd and teach those God has graciously brought to them. Continue to pray for those students who travel to Kiev from the southeastern part of the country as traveling through the areas of conflict can be time-consuming and unsafe.

Thank you for praying with us.
