Prayer Update—April 13, 2017

“Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism unto death,
in order that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father,
so we too might walk in newness of life.”
Romans 6:4

Dear Praying Friends,

TBA (Croatia) was very encouraged by the many people who attended the February conference and meetings with Paul Washer. Croatia’s national TV and radio station recorded an interview with Paul Washer and his book, The Gospel’s Power and Message, was translated into Croatian in time to be distributed at the conference. Pray for ongoing fruit from what was heard at the conference and what can be read and studied in the book. Also, please pray for a seminar on Biblical Counseling coming up at TBA on April 22 -29.

Similarly, CBI (Czech Republic) experienced an unusually large number of attendees from several countries as well as different churches for their conference with Paul Washer. At least one Christian denominational group is beginning to endorse and look to CBI as their choice for leadership training. Pray for the CBI professors as they prayerfully seek to make the most of these opportunities by offering an M.Div. program in conjunction with EBTC starting in August and starting a new extension campus in the western part of the country in September.

Pray for EBTC (Germany/Switzerland) as they complete preparations for the special pastor’s conference in mid-May commemorating the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. The conference will be followed by a tour of key Reformation sites as well as an exposure to the work of the gospel going on today. Pray that the commitment and convictions of the early Reformers will be carried forward into our time by men who love the gospel in its purity.

Pray for the discipleship opportunities that occur outside the classroom at CAPA (Malawi), especially for the professors to understand the cultural worldview that their students are coming from in order to help them think through how to apply biblical principles to their lives and ministries. Pray for humility on both sides as both students and professors seek to grow in Christ-likeness. Pray for a strong finish as the students and professors complete their final module for this academic year.

Pray for the TEA (Philippines) leadership as they manage their classes in varied locations. They currently have 120 students meeting in four different churches on two different islands in the Biblical Studies program, and 67 students meeting at five locations on four different islands in the Expository Preaching and Pastoral Ministries program! They are thankful for an online course management service which provides a central place for students to submit assignments and teachers to grade homework, provide feedback and post announcements.

Andrey Rezunenko is the academic dean for the WGBI (Russian language/multi-country) School of Biblical Preaching in Rovno, Ukraine & Far East of Russia. Pray for God’s blessing and wisdom as he leads and develops these schools. They recently hosted a spring session on “From Exegesis to Exposition.” Pray that the students’ ministries will be strengthened by this instruction.

Thank you for praying with us!
